THEATRE - ART - RECYCLING
WORKSHOPS

According to me, theatre + art + recycling workshops
are some of the most
under - USED tools in the world.
If the entire world (or some mind boggling figure) did theatre exercises and breath work,
I am convinced the Universe would be a kinder place. War might just be a - word.
And of course, if a large proportion of the Universe actively recycled, the planet would be healthier and perhaps, families too.
Necessary to get on stage or screen, theatre exercises work on our confidence, self expression, emotional healing, laughter, team work and develop wonderful skills of visualization.
The safe, easy atmosphere of these workshops creates a conducive place for participants
to let go slowly of their exhausted facade and re-connect with their inner child. Part of the intent of these workshops is to use the tools of theatre, art, recycling, breath, voice, writing together to make the whole process creative , fun and powerful.
I was trained in these skills by Dilip Shankar, not only one of India's finest casting director's and director, but also my spiritual guru. What was amazing in this journey was that I wasn't 'taught' anything. Dilip didn't take me through some course in a few weeks. I watched, listened and slowly my soul absorbed.
Having done an assortment of workshops at a range of places - schools, a maternity hospital, with the cast of 'Ram' at Shri Ram Bhartiya Kala Kendra and the Kingdom of Dreams, in Mumbai with dancers to develop acting skills, with children with hearing disabilities and with boys in juvenile homes - I can easily say - Try it!
